Look Around

I have a bad habit of poking things in between books. Just found this. Have not played it for about 20 years. Found letters poems cds cards in my tidy up....so much fodder for writing. Bitter sweet memories and a lot of joyful times....it was a time of freedom  and relative innocence without terrorism. I want it back !

in the blue study
dancing with my maracas
i remember joy

a barefoot dancer
that's me - put the music on
i'm  off and away
my mother and grandmother
were exactly the same too

  1. Sergio Mendes! Was talking about him with another blogger the other day. Love this!

Remembering music class in kindergarten - everyone wanted the maracas. For good reason. :)

    1. We are no match for a friend of mine who can spontaneously start a conga line in a supermarket . Shopping with him is like going to a party :)

  7. Ahhhhh, dancing barefoot. I was into Herb Alpert's sounds in the early '60's. Loved the Barzil 66 sounds, too. Love your post.

  8. Nice post Rall ... your tanka is really awesome and it brought an image to my mind from a novel by Paulo Coelho "The Witch of Portobello" in which the head character tries to reach out to her world and her gypsy roots by dancing.
