Cosi Fan Tutte

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femalearticle-2068246/Women-born-bitchy--heres-scientific-proof.html

oh dear, so blatant
any woman can tell you
what this is all about

women
scary in groups with sharpened claws
character assassinating their latest victim
eliminating the competition
jungle sport is such good fun

unless of course they are of that
small wonderful band of  rarities
who climbed out of the trees
sometime back

For My Friends Ruth and Rose

both brilliant beautiful
charming generous and kind
the world is a poorer place
without women like you

  5. Can't say I agree, but the title made me grin, as did "jungle sport" and the character assassination done by claw. Which leads me to suspect that this is satire of the point of view in Stanza One, how women are often served up by men. You see, I think the proportion is the other way around--the more evolved women far outweigh the ones in the cartoon.

  6. As women we must withdraw our claws (mostly)...and stick together..as for Walt the quote says it all - weird!

  7. Agree...the Walt quote appealed to my very mad sense of humour...it made me laugh !

  8. I too loved the Walt quote. But mostly I like the creativity, the satire and humor in all of your post and your poem. Your friends are of that "rare" group. But I don't think the group is really so rare and you seem to be part of it along with your friends.

  10. I've met the women with claws (both out for men and women who are competition). It's always been sad to see women served up as a meal for men. I feel that there is still too large a population that looks upon womankind as chattel rather than valued for their intelligence and contribution to society,

  11. Lord knows why Sophia seems so annoyed when she was twice the actress Jayne was. But I suppose it is all about being upstaged. As for Walt, that quote is so true as Mickey probably did far more for him that any woman could.

  12. When you find women (like Ruth & Rose it sounds like) who don't sharpen their claws or take part in jungle sport....what a gift! Hang on to them for dear life! And, that photo you have paired with this is absolutely perfect. Captures the subject at hand perfectly!

    1. Sadly both Rose and Ruth died within 3 months of each other in 2012. They were both in their fifties and both died of ovarian cancer. There are no symptoms. So gals please do have that annual check up.
