in the soft fizz
of a hot bubble bath
or
buried under the cover of
a pink feather duvet

life
stressful
to breaking point
tranquillity
eludes me
making only brief visits
i wish i could find a way
to persuade her to stay longer

Oh, I envy the pink feather duvet! That's where I find tranquility too - in bed, early, with a really good book, warm and snug.
ReplyDeleteAh, you found already...I love cozy bath too. :)
ReplyDeleteYour first stanza shows you know the way right up to her door. Will you enter?
ReplyDeleteYes, I like your touch of lightness through chaotic times. It will get you through. That and a pink feather duvet! I like the words "I wish I could find a way to persuade her to stay longer." Me too.
ReplyDeletePink feather diet - that does sound dreamy..tranquility is both fleeing and hard to pin down but when she comes - ahh...so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like this, Rall. I'm thinking that I do all of the above. Tranquility? This morning I had to leave those covers early, 7:30 +/- , as my hip was hurting no matter what side.
ReplyDeleteThere are pills, Tuesday I had a broken off tooth pulled and I was looking forward to a new bottle. No such, the oral surgeon said Tylenol and Motrin. Bummer, I would have to dig into my stash. Bummer again, I never was hurting.

true reflections
ReplyDeleteOh yes.. nothing like a bubble bath to calm the senses :D lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Rall, modern life does makes live on edge and finding tranquillity can be like negotiating a labyrinth and having to vanquish tens of Minotaurs... Well-penned!
