This is one of those short poems that holds a super long story in them. The positive (and often annoying) side of me wants to think of a relationship in which a little biting makes things interesting. But the side that looks under the veil, the one that never forgets the terrible things a person can do to another... makes me worry about her, about what that beak can do, about whether or not she could leave if she chose.
Oh i love this Rall! Like love it is bitter sweet and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fate for her. Hope she escapes . . :)
ReplyDeleteA sharp beak will always be something of a risk.
ReplyDeleteOoh, a strange relationship here.
ReplyDeleteBound together like the moon and tide, love that. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful... and a bit melancholic too.
ReplyDeleteNice, the bite of pain and the desire to be bound with the other. Levely

ReplyDeleteWonderful interpretation of the painting.
Ah, but is it the bite that bonds, the wild connection? Love it!
