she had always known
life was not a bed of roses
so for most of it
she lived with
her head in the clouds
everyone said one day
her feet would
hit the ground
with a reality jolt
the surprise was
she had managed somehow
to live with
her head in the clouds
unaware
her feet were firmly planted on the ground
for most of the time

I've known people like that! Well said.
ReplyDeleteI vote for living with our heads in the clouds, more fun. I now have a wonderful visual of you 'floating.'
ReplyDeleteA gloriously vivid imagination, a wild power for dreaming... has never meant that one isn't grounded. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteSelf-portrait?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, an adult friend and neighbour said of me to my parents,'Little Rosemary has her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds!' I think she was right, and I think both things are important.
What a paradox! Nice one Rall.
ReplyDeleteI prefer my head in the clouds - what's been happening on the ground is too scary.
ReplyDeletePeople who put their heads in the clouds needn't worry about stones shattering their glass houses. (Or something like that!)
ReplyDeleteExcellent write! I love it! Big Hugs!
