this was your chair
you found it and cherished it
so i love it too
you have been gone
a long time
but nothing...nothing
not even your rhododendrons
can alleviate such unimaginable
ongoing grief
i knew it would be hard
but nothing could prepare me
for anything like this

I have said it so many times, but grief is the most formidable opponent I have ever faced. And to this very day, I cannot say I won. You expressed this so well.
ReplyDeleteRall, your poem holds such a quiet, aching depth. I really feel the way grief lingers in everyday objects.
