W 3----weekly prompt

Mahon Pool Sydney

a savage beauty
not for the faint hearted
no one
swimming today
in the pool
an angry seascape
shrieks "keep out"
the wind howls
the waves crash
two more months of winter
two more months of icy gloom

  4. Your poem is perfect in its succinct simplicity. And thanks for a little Vivaldi. There are those who dismiss him, but I always enjoy The Four Seasons.

  5. 'Savage beauty' is a perfect description. I love the personification of the sea as it shrieks it warning, the acoustics in the poem bring the image to life wonderfully. The anaphora on the last two lines are so effective.

  7. Rall, this captures such raw atmosphere. I feel the chill in your words as much as the wind in the scene.

  9. Rall, this is a perfect example of the power of free verse - like the ocean charging outside its boundaries!
