It is not simply a question
of shouldering herculean
responsibility for some spoilt
elitist student with a fertile
imagination indulging himself
in a stoned drawing
of beer froth and chicken thighs
and then calling it art
This working relationship is
coming asunder
I'm not enthusiastic about
being the brunt of
undergraduate foolishness
Nor should you be! :) Strong!
ReplyDeleteThis is mild for me Tumblewords!
ReplyDeleteHi Rall,
ReplyDeleteYou've changed 'foolery' for 'foolishness'! Still good though.
I'm not sure how my comment box could have changed; I never touched nuffink guvnor, honest!
very good use of those words, Rall! Plus I adore the sentiment behind them. I have never had ANY patience with tom-foolery!
ReplyDeleteDon't believe you!
ReplyDeleteThis one leaves me smiling.
ReplyDeletewell I got soooo much patience with tom-foolery......thanks again for sharing this....and thanks Rall for commenting on my blog.....me kewl???....hmm I keep telling my daughters that..."ya rite dad"...but the grandkids think im kewl too...so thanks....take care
ReplyDeleteodd, I thought I commented on this. must be losing my mind. I was looking to see if you were already up with your transliteration, but that's okay--i like your stoned drawing of beer froth and chicken thighs.
ReplyDeleteBabs..I've done it .. I've actually got the English translation. I think I will put the English translation in as well just to show
ReplyDeletehow different my transliteration is from the correct translation.
You're not going mad I put this up too early
and it got lost in the archives somewhere.I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does with this next week.

ReplyDeleteLucky Grandkids Wayne ..kewl and a rumba champ
as well!
I like how "It's not simply a question" launches the mild chiding. Artfully woven words.
ReplyDeleteAmen, my brother!
ReplyDeleteI think, though, we have to allow ourselves such foolishness to find what is true, what is logical, what is art-worthy, and hell -- what is even art in the first place. The true sin is staying in the ignorance and arrogance depicted by the young man in your poem.
Nicely done.
