Mary Poppins

3WW

bright and cheerful
miss poppins
is portrayed

chim chim cheree
chim chiminey
la di da da

 technicolour version
brought big bucks
disney
paid tribute to her

 truth lay dark
hidden in the tall grass

 of sad secrets
in a bleak
Queensland country town

myth laden and odd
was our penitent miss prim

escaped to ole blighty
to find fame and fortune

heart shattered
by her irish poet

feckless charming
skirt chaser

ditched her to marry
third time to a teenager

poor poppins found fortune
never found love

adopted an irish baby
leaving its twin
behind like a
pet at the pound
on the advice
of her crackpot astrologer

eeny meeny miney mo
catch...

oh... the  youngest
wins the prize
name him camillus
sounds god- like
don't you think

having seen him interviewed
believe me ,he is  anything but...

  4. I used to read the book as a kid. It's darker then the film but not like this. I like this, though. Your story telling and keeping in verse, the rhythm and flow of it, tripping one line to the next, easy to keep on reading. Thanks, I enjoyed reading.

  5. Anyone can look good with a great publicist. We are all human so we will all have a dark side. However it was great to be carried away by your dark umbrella prose.
