A Puzzle Poem ...Dverse

he was smitten

a spark renewed
like a strike of a match

the solitary man began to smile

she enjoyed the attention
from her new pedestal

dazzling from on high
basking in his devotion

he found himself happy for once
frolicking in flower fields

the daisies waved their petals
the bees buzzed about him like honey

out of nowhere

she hurled a boulder down
crushing him to the ground

he desperately searched for reasons
stunned shocked and wounded

the daisies and the bees knew why
they had seen it happen before

but do you?

  1. same reason you never put anyone on a pedestal...it goes to their head and corrupts any beauty they once had...

  2. ..ah, too many facets to consider here... i wondered at the silence of the daisies & bees t'wards the end... maybe, the woman is enjoying attention not from the man but from the flower fields she considered as her new pedestal & that she hates to see an intruder frolicking her garden...ha... or

..maybe, the man is too frail of temptations to be flurting with the other beauties around & that he played unworthy for such a woman selfishly inlove.... or,

...maybe, the man is gay & the woman hates it when it gets revealed surprisingly to her... lol...

...ok... i am not too good at riddles... i just like to give an attempt... smiles...

    3. What I meant to say was that only a woman or a Swedish guy will get this!

  4. Ooch that hurts.. yes why indeed. Envy of his joy.. concern that his joy was for another reason than her. -- interesting riddle, but a boulder in the head you only get once.

  6. the 'solitary man' somehow gave me an image of a scarecrow, smiling. great riddle, perhaps this is one jealous woman who doesn't like him to frolick amongst daisies and bees... ;)

    1. Yes, insecure women are jealous of shadows daisies and bees or anything really that they cannot control.

  7. Hmmm, really not sure of the answer. It seems a strong reaction to someone who was an admirer, I will check back later for the answer.

  8. Such rapture or high emotions don't last forever, they are fleeting as daisies ~ Better to give him the real dose of reality now, than later ~

  9. Frolicking with gay abandon tends to lead to an unhappy ending!

  10. If you put someone on a pedestal, you are probably not seeing the real them!

  11. Plus - "frolicking in flower fields" seems decidedly ungentlemanly if he has a garden at home to tend.

  12. Maybe in the time of the dinosaur.

    1. The Dodo is not a dinosaur! He is alive and well and has relatives living in a town near you.
