For The Weekend

chabrier drifts
from a sunroom jungle
the woman
sunglints on her silver foils
crosses the park
through the willow trees

the turquoise afternoon
dazzles to twilight
on seven shillings beach
dark mauve blue weed
entwining the orange nasturtiums

boats bobbing to the tinkle of halyards
chitter chatter from balcony barbecues
popping of corks clang of cutlery
lights and ferries gliding along
on a mirror neon red and blue

silvery laughter
the rustle of taffeta
soft slam of a sports car door
perfume flowers  crystal
summer night
