Spellbound

dverse, sunday scribblings,poets united

how many times
has this scene been re-enacted

rain pattering on the roof
him -snoring softly to the rhythm

her- churning thoughts around
planning scheming who knows?

she used to sleep so well
now she is getting less and less

relationships are complex matters
especially with warlocks

they cast spells
take up residence in your head

pop out from behind your cushions
spy on your toes steal your nail polish

empty your holy water bottles
the problem is you cannot get enough of them

she feels like a whale
beached on the sand stuck fast in
her unhappiness

no escape for her
she listens to the hard rain
pelting the sea gulls

i promise i will never steal nail polish.
    smiles.
yes relationships can be complex, and i think it more than warlocks
who have that kind of sway

  8. I'm sure if I was that woman, which, judging from my legs, I'm not, I would have had more than enough of the warlocks.

    1. She will need a sturdy little battler with strong legs to roll her into the surf:)

    1. LOL..I know...... I have to wear a large crucifix and scapula medals, make a wreath of garlic, rose thorns and parsley (continental of course )for my hair, douse myself in holy water and persuade a fervent duck friend to offer up intercession prayers for me.
Good to see you Doddles ...Glad to know I have not been dropped from a great height again:)

  13. Been on a week's holiday - on my own.

I have this love of visiting early Christian sites up and down the UK. Mrs Doddles does not share this passion of mine. This year I stayed at Mersea Island in Essex and visited some of the old Anglo-Saxon sites and churches. Goggle 'St Peter's on the Wall' in Bradwell. An early Cathedral (7th century). Wonderful, wonderful place.

I have made put in place the necessary arrangements to rid you of the warlock. He will bother you no more.
