Fine tribute to Betty Bacall. It's sad to see her leave. She's been around all my life. I thought of her as my mother's age, but she was a bit younger. I've seen them all come and go..but now ones my age are leaving us naturally and unnaturally. The progression of life sometimes makes me ache but new life keeps coming, enchanting, endearing, special and we smile again in these autumn years. The rhythms here of course are nearly all iambs and anapests..very English, very natural.

I think the allure of stars back in those days is that everything wasnt revealed as it is today - now stars appear on screen nude, having sex, there is definitely no mystery any more.........I think romance is made more beautiful when some things are held sacred.......but then I have always been an old fashioned romantic..........
