They shoot horses don't they ?

high spirited creature
they tried to break it
flogging and thrashing
drawing blood trying to
cripple it but nothing worked
some horses cannot be broken
so they lurked in the shadows
caught it unawares
shot it stone dead
buried it on all hallows eve
then talked of peace and love
and the horrors of war

  3. Because are like the horse that is full of spirit and resists being broken, we must be aware that there are those who would like to see us broken.

  16. This poem has impact, Rallentanda. What is it in human nature that feels it must "break" and conquer one's spirit, whether human or animal? I dont get it.

  21. Ugh. Brutal. Beating animals is not only cruel but I think it reflects a violent nature within the ones doing it, whether they recognize it or not.

  22. brutality in any form is just so unacceptable ...
