  1. Why do people buy into this crap? Poor writing with love replaced by abuse, degradation and submission - its very antithesis. We live in strange and bewildering times.

  2. We do indeed. It has sold 70 million copies. Written to a formula and so poorly written! Bought my copy for fifty cents at a garage sale.Could not get past the first 40 pages...it goes into the bin not for its laughable erotic content but for its woeful syntax
    and inferior literary merit.

  4. I wanted to know what is so great about this book... So I downloaded a PDF (Didnt have heart to spend some money on such a book)

    And I am still reading...
Wondering how people and times have changed...
This is a time where LOVE is just a word...
And people have become so self-obsessed and self-centric...

    Lovely haiku!

    1. In the west we live in a secular materialistic society. Without the benefits of spirituality and religious values this can only become worse. There is nothing great about this book. It is an inditement of what we have become. Poets are a few notches above the rest...elitist (maybe ) but true!

  9. A great take on the prompt. Your first line says it all. Like others I bought the first one and lost the will to live after the first 30 pages!

  11. The Bible says something about salt losing its savour. Someday, I'm afraid, Nelson Mandela is going to lose his. Nobody lives forever...
