red hot pokers
dazzling and dramatic
summer flowers
flushed with rage
in need of a calm embrace
from a dogwood branch
in full soft spring bloom
cherry pink and white
September Heights
the path is not straight
as long as you are close by
i'll ride out the storm

Artful and intense...
ReplyDeleteNever mind a dogwood branch, I can think of a more suitable place for cooling red hot pokers!
ReplyDeleteThe birdbath?
DeleteKeep this up Dodo and there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth for one
Deleteclodhopping dinosaur avian!
Did dodos have teeth to gnash?
DeleteWe all need opposites in our life. The diametrically opposed hot and cold can create a warm composite.
ReplyDeletehaving someone there on the path with you...makes all the difference in the midst of those storms....
ReplyDeleteI loved the haiku and that sweet little poem too...
ReplyDeleteNice one!

ReplyDeleteCrooked Ways

ReplyDeleteA most interesting storm, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteBoth are good. The Haiku I think may be better transposing the first and third lines.
