Beyond The Black Stump

POETS UNITED

this was a mistake
6 years and still not completed

this was another mistake
never invite an artist to decorate your shed

this was not a mistake
i liked schlepping Derrick around the Plains
with  dinosaurs in tow

this is Cro
pretending he's an aussie
shooing cows in France
this could be a mistake
if he finds out
i put this on

this was a necessity for women in a certain era
not sure what it was for
but on a visit to morpeth
one could possibly guess

this was a mistake
willy wag tail's nest too close to the ground

these plants thrive on neglect
congratulations

this is the last pic of fat frog
who lived on the screen door
before the bush fires last year

this red cattle dog
is very strange
looks very much at home

you can have acres of these
they love 45 degree celsius heat
your own personal garden of eden
with serpents- big brown ones
that kill you stone dead

this was not a mistake
behind this fence is a pool
covered by a rusty tin roof
where my best friend the peppercorn tree
and i spend a lot of the day

dreaming
dreaming
dreaming
in the still hush
of unrelenting heat

  2. Wonderful ... and mistakes are lives way of correcting us. Poor frog and willy wagtails.

Remember, the nature of the journey matters as well as the destination.

  7. Well this was pleasantly entertaining. I was a little tense though after I found out about the snakes. I hope they don't like peppercorn trees. Dreaming would be impossible otherwise.
