Temptation

dverse

Quatern

temptation that i oh so love
with delicious taste and texture
filling all the gaps and large holes
making life good so much better

my birthday suit needs altering
temptation that i oh so love
is stacking on the pounds by pounds
my clothes ill fitting and too tight

sugar addiction is quite strong
like nicotine and alcohol
temptation that i oh so love
could ruin my health in the future

so i will ration my sweet love
to one per week and take with tea
look forward to that special treat
temptation that i oh so love

  2. Oh dear, I used to have a fast metabolism and could eat anything I liked, but now (approaching 40..shh) I find cake becoming my body and I'm going to have to be a bit more disciplined.

  3. Luckily I don't have a heavy duty sweet tooth but I know plenty of people who do. But still could use my birthday suit being taken in a bit too...oh I wish that would work!

  4. I can be quite resilient to that sweet craves.. But salted nuts are quite a different thing. You worked the refrain in so well in the quatern

  6. Unfortunately, I can relate to this all too well. I loved the repetition of "temptation that I oh so love" as it reinforced the repetitive nature of temptation.

  8. I like the idea of taking my birthday suit to the tailor. The tailor may be less than impressed though.

  9. The secret with temptation is to give into it and it changes to regret. And we can always rationalise regret. (Written with a cold beer in the gazebo in the front yard. I shouldn't have but it was hot.)

  10. Why not...it's the long weekend!

I have been succumbing to my sweet temptation for months so I attempted a cold turkey withdrawal but it was just too painful so am now adopting a controlled temptation situation ...strictly only once a week.
